The veggie garden is perking along and the flowers are coming into full bloom.

Sydney, our only grand daughter is reaffirming why, even though grandsons are special, grand daughters are ’specialer’.

We had the Seattle crowd over for Memorial Day festivities.  Sarah, Jake, Carlos, Julie, Dawn, Jim, Abby, Holly and Jake’s almost SO Sarah came for barbequed spare ribs, potato salad, cole slaw, bean salad and garlic bread. Bonnie found recipes for a dry rub and a North Carolina BBQ sauce that were awesome.  The weather couldn’t have been better.  Jeff, Tanner, Sydney, Doug and August were missed.

Spring has finally limped in.  The weather has been getting gradually warmer.  Even though it’s not Mother’s Day yet (Magic Planting Date), we’ve put tomatoes, squash, beans and artichokes in the new garden.  The close up is a tomato blossom and the wide shot is the new garden by the stone wall.
